PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University baseball team took down Fort Hays State University in game two of the three game series, 10-5.
The Gorillas would start out the game strong with a four run second inning off the bats of Cade Clemons and Kaden Fowler. The score would stay 4-0 until a Fort Hays run in the sixth, the Gorillas would answer with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to make the score 6-1. Fort Hays would fight back in the seventh but the Gorillas would prove to be too much taking the game 10-5.
Cruz Aranda would finish three for four scoring two runs in the process. Brett Daley would also go three for four with two RBIs on the day, including a two run shot to left center.
Peyton Ingalls was credited with the win, moving his season record to 3-1. Ingalls would go five and 2/3 innings allowing seven hits and one run in the outing.
Pitt State returns to action tomorrow (Mar. 27) for game three of the series against Fort Hays.
