SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Pittsburg State University men's and women's outdoor track & field teams wrapped up a busy weekend of action Saturday (Apr. 2) competing at the Angelo State University Relays and the SBU Bearcat Invitational.
At the ASU Relays, Christine Williams won the women's 200 meters (23.80) and placed fourth in the women's 100 meters (12.03). She also helped the women's 4x100m relay – along with teammates Blakelee Winn, Jamiya Morgan and Sky Hagan – claim victory (45.60); and she helped the 4x400m relay – along with teammates Winn, Emerson Tice and Matti Price – finish second (3:54.02).
Winn added a second-place finish in the women's long jump (18-8), while Kyla Davis (12-10) and Kinsey Laird (12-4) placed first and second, respectively, in the women's pole vault. Madison Reese added a second-place showing in the women's javelin throw (145-9) and Auna Childress placed second in the women's triple jump (39-3.75). Allary Liberatore placed third in the women's high jump (5-4.5).
In the men's action, Konner Swenson won the hammer throw (196-7) and shot put (57-9.75) and added a third-place finish in the discus throw (166-7). Caleb Calvin won the men's javelin throw (210-0), while Louis Rollins won the men's 110 meter hurdles (13.56) and shattered the all-time Pitt State record in the process. Rollins also helped the 4x100m relay – along with teammates Tevin Wright-Rose, Sam Tudor and L.J. Kiner – place third in 40.51.
Nizar Alarahshun placed third in the men's 200 meters (21.37) and the 4x400m relay of Tudor, Bailey Stone, Derrick Palmer and Matthew Morris finished second in 3:14.17.
At the SBU Bearcat Invitational, Kate Dawson placed second in the women's 1,500 meters (4:34.86) and third in the women's 800 meters (2:12.81), while Diego Contreras placed third in the men's 1,500 meters (3:55.31).
