MIAA Announces Academic Honors for Outdoor Track & Field

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The MIAA announced its Academic Awards for the 2026 men's and women's outdoor track & field seasons.

28 members of the Pittsburg State University men's outdoor track & field team and 37 members of the Gorillas women's outdoor track & field squad were named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

The men's honorees include: Tyler Atkins, Aidan Beachner, Brandon Bishop, Korbin Black, Brennan Boord, Andrew Early, Trevin Elam, Theo Gibson, Eli Gilmore, Jack Haukap, Nathan Hinrichs, Maddox Johnson, Logan Keith, Jordan Kilonzo, Kade Meinke, Nate Miller, Nick O'Connor, Chase Poague, Jackson Reid, Travis Sickles, Dylan Sprecker, Drake Stapleton, Jason Swartzlander, Braylon Thompson, Caden Uthe, Avery Voysey, Nate Watson and Drew Wilhite.

The women's honorees include: Isabel Abdouch, Brooklyn Baker, Cannon Booker, Kaylee Brown, Lily Brown, Kelsey Bruening, Mikah Edwards, Makyna Faust, Phoebe Fletcher, Hannah Gibson, Janae Granere, Kinleigh Hall, Kyra Heald, Makenzie Jackson, Aisley James, Abby Lasiter, Haila Leake, Kelci Locke, Jade Meade, Paige Mullen, Kayvon Nubine, Makayla Pavelka, Isabelle Peters, Gracie Peterson, Payton Phillips, Lorna Rae Pierce, Maggie Salsbury, Hailey Secrest, Kaci Singer, Kinley Smith, Shelby Sogaard, Quincey Turner, Bethany Umbarger, Olivia Vanderweide, Audrey Wilcoxson, Leah Wilkinson and Blakelee Winn.

To be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll list, one must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 or above at the certifying member institution. The individual must also have at least two terms of grades reported at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.

Four Pitt State men - Gilmore, Sprecker, Stapleton, Thompson - and eight Pitt state women - Abdouch, L. Brown, Edwards, Pavelka, Peters, Pierce, Umbarger and Winn were also named MIAA Scholar Athletes

A Scholar-Athlete is an individual that has a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.50 or better at the certifying member institution. They must also have at least two terms of grades reported at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms. The student-athlete must also earn All-MIAA honors in the sport for the 2026 season.

Additionally, five Pitt State men - Hinrichs, Johnson, Miller, O'Connor, Thompson - and six women - L. Brown, Peters, Pierce, Singer, Turner and Winn also earned the prestigious MIAA Academic Excellence Award.

An MIAA Academic Excellence Award recipient must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of at least 4.00 at the certifying member institution. The honoree also must have at least two terms of grades reported at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
