KEARNEY, Neb. — Several members of the Pittsburg State University men's and women's outdoor track & field teams competed at the University of Nebraska-Kearney Twilight Meet Saturday (May 14) in hopes of earning qualifying marks to the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships.
In the women's action, Kyla Davis recorded a personal-best clearance of 13 feet, 5.25 inches in the pole vault to climb into the top 10 in the national rankings in the discipline. Madelyn Marquez also posted a season-best time of 14.01 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles and Jamiya Morgan posted a PR time of 11.80 seconds in the 100 meters.
In the men's action, Tevin Wright-Rose posted a season-best time of 10.35 seconds in the 100 meters, Konner Swenson landed a season best mark of 58-10.75 in the shot put and Christian Carter registered a PR mark of 24-7.75 in the long jump. All three athletes climbed into the top 15 nationally in their respective disciplines.
On Sunday (May 15), a handful of Pitt State distance runners will compete in the Colorado State University-Pueblo Last Chance Invite at Pueblo, Colo.
