IOLA, Kan. -- Pittsburg State University men's and women's cross country team athletes competed at the Allen County Community College Firestarter Classic Saturday (Oct. 14) at Cedarbrook Golf Course.

Erika Baker led the Pitt State women in their five kilometer race by placing ninth among individual runners in 19 minutes, 58.7 seconds. C.J. Kneisler paced the Pitt State men with a 16th place finish and a time of 26:07.3 in the Gorillas' eight kilometer race.

The meet served as a final tuneup before the 2023 MIAA Championships which will be held Oct. 20 at Gans Creek Cross Country Course at Columbia, Mo.
