INDIANAPOLIS — The Pittsburg State University football team slid two spots to No. 3 in the second set of NCAA Division II Regional Rankings released Monday (Nov. 6).
The Gorillas debuted at No. 1 in the first set of rankings Oct. 30, but Pitt State suffered its first loss of the season Saturday (Nov. 4), dropping a 31-30 decision at Missouri Western.
Harding, the lone unbeaten team in Super Region Three, assumed the No. 1 ranking this week with Grand Valley State (8-1) just behind them at No. 2. Following Pitt State, the Central Missouri (9-1) held firm at No. 4 and Ferris State (7-1) climbed to No. 5.
Ouachita Baptist (9-1), Missouri Western (7-2), Davenport (8-1), UIndy (8-1) and Southern Arkansas (8-2) round out positions six through 10.

Following the completion of regular season play Saturday (Nov. 11), the top seven teams in Super Region Three will qualify for the 28-team NCAA Division II national playoffs beginning Saturday, Nov. 18. The No. 1 seed will earn a bye in the first round of the playoffs on Nov. 18, while seeds two through four will host first-round games on campus sites.

Pitt State will play host to Central Oklahoma Saturday at 2 p.m. (CST) at Brandenburg Field/Carnie Smith Stadium.
