Gerber Garners MIAA Player of the Week Accolades

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Pittsburg State University junior forward Karenna Gerber garnered MIAA Player of the Week accolades for women's basketball Wednesday (Dec. 20).

Gerber averaged 25.0 points and 6.0 rebounds a game while shooting 63.0 percent from the field and 94.1 percent from the free throw line for the week as the Gorillas picked up two road wins over Central Missouri and Lincoln.

The Halstead, Kan., native began the week with a season-high 29 points (10-of-15 from the field) and 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the campaign as the Gorillas engineered a 20-point comeback to beat No. 3 Central Missouri at Warrensburg, Mo.

Gerber finished the week a 23-point performance against Lincoln going 7-of-12 from the field and a perfect 9-of-9 from the charity stripe.

Pitt State will return to action against Tabor College on Saturday, Dec. 30, at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.
