No. 22 Gorillas Handle Tabor, 75-47

PITTSBURG — Karenna Gerber scored a game-high 25 points to lead the No. 22 ranked Pittsburg State University women's basketball team to a 75-47 victory over Tabor College Saturday (Dec. 30) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.

The Gorillas improved to 11-1 with the victory in front of 1,181 fans at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court. Pitt State is off to its best start to a season since the 2016-17 season when the Gorillas opened that campaign 16-1.

Gerber, the reigning MIAA Player of the Week, made 10 of 16 shots from the floor in the contest as the Gorillas finished the contest 50.8 percent overall (33-65).

Grace Pyle added 11 points and eight assists, while Emma Martin and Sydney Holmes finished with 10 points apiece. Savannah Campbell chipped in with six points and nine rebounds.

Tabor got a team-leading nine points from Teegan Worth.

The Gorillas will return to MIAA action next Saturday (Jan. 6) when Pitt State hosts Missouri Southern State University at 1:30 p.m. (CST).
