PITTSBURG — Records continued to fall on day two action of 8
th Annual Gorilla Indoor Classic Saturday (Feb. 11) at the Robert W. Plaster Center.

The Pittsburg State University men's indoor track & field continued to assert itself as the No. 1 ranked team in NCAA Division II as the Gorillas posted a pair of all-time Division II record on the day.

Sophomore hurdler/jumper Cordell Tinch shattered the all-time Division II record in the 60 meter hurdles with a blazing time of 7.50 seconds. His time is currently fourth fastest in the world this calendar year and tops among all USA collegians.

The 4x400 meter relay of Sam Tudor, Bailey Stone, Corey Lyons and Braylen Brewer followed that up by breaking the all-time Division II mark with their fast time of 3:07.72.

Tinch also broke the Pitt State record in the high jump with his clearance of 7 feet, 2.5 inches.

On the women's side, junior Auna Childress improved her school record in the triple jump with a new personal best mark of 43-2.25, the top mark in Division II this season. Junior Kate Dawson also lowered her school record in the mile run with a new PR time of 4:54.14.

Other notable marks, include Lyons (47.37) and Stone (47.38) clocking the second and third fastest times in school history in the men's 400 meters; Taniya Looney posting the third fastest time in school history in the women's 60 meters (7.51); and Antoine Evans Jr. posting the third fastest time in school history in the men's 60 meters (6.69).

L.J. Kiner won the men's triple jump (52-10), Erica Schamel won the women's long jump (5-8.5) and Jentrie Alderson won the women's 3,000 meters (9:53.31). The women's 4x400m relay of Blakelee Winn, Jamiya Morgan, Kinleigh Hall and Looney also posted victory in 3:46.04.

Sky Hagan placed second in the women's 60m hurdles (8.37), Allary Liberatore finished second in the women's high jump (5-7.25), T.J. Caldwell placed second in the men's 60m hurdles (7.74) and Daylin Williams finished third in the men's 60m hurdles (7.78).

Gabe Muia added a fourth-place finish in the men's high jump (6-11) and Konner Swenson placed fourth in the men's shot put (57-6.25).
