Gorillas Compete at UCM Relays Friday

WARRENSBURG, Mo -- Pittsburg State University men's and women's outdoor track & field athletes competed at the University of Central Missouri Mule Relays Friday (Apr. 14).

In the women's action, Shelby Sogaard (135-4) and Amber Walbeck (133-10) placed first and second, respectively, in the javelin throw. Addison Hinterweger added a second place finish in the discus (149-11), while Victoria Wright placed second in the 400m hurdles (1:05.61) and Jamiya Morgan finished second in the 200 meters (24.79).

Ryan Dotson (195-2) and Avery Voysey (189-11) placed third and fourth, respectively, in the men's javelin throw. E'lan Moore added a fourth-place finish in the discus (167-8), while Cole Sample placed fifth in the shot put (54-1).

In California, the men's 400m relay of Tevin Wright-Rose, A.J. Evans, Makai Blades and Xavier Carmichael clocked a time of 40.26 at the Mt. Sac Relays Friday, while Wright-Rose also posted a time of 10.64 in the 100 meters.

Hunter Jones compiled a personal best 7,277 points in the men's decathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational Thursday, while Doug Brown compiled 6,325 points in the multi events. Claire Bruening also clocked a time of 2:14.01 in the women's 800 meters Friday.

Several Pitt State athletes will be in action Saturday at the Bryan Clay Invite.
