PITTSBURG -- Pittsburg State University men's and women's outdoor track & field athletes made one final attempt to improve marks or qualify for the 2023 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships Friday (May 12) in the Last Chance Qualifier at Carnie Smith Stadium/Prentice Gudgen Track.

A handful of Gorillas improved on their season-best performances in their respective disciplines, including Kyle Davis in the women's pole vault (13-9.75), Jamiya Morgan in the women's 200 meters (23.92), Xavier Carmichael (20.88) and Tevin Wright-Rose (21.05) in the men's 200 meters and Cole Sample in the men's shot put (57-2.5).

Qualifiers for the national championships will be announced by the NCAA next week.
