KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Pittsburg State University junior forward Karenna Gerber garnered MIAA Player of the Week accolades for women's basketball Monday (Jan. 29) for the second time this season.
Gerber averaged 18.5 points and 7.0 rebounds a game shooting .600 percent from the field and .875 percent from the free throw line in the Gorillas two home wins over Rogers State and Northeastern State. The Halstead, Kan., native finished the week with her fifth double-double of the season scoring 19 points and coming away with 10 rebounds against NSU. To begin the week, Gerber scored 18 points in 15 minutes going 8-of-11 from the field while grabbing four rebounds .
Pittsburg State will be back in action on Thursday (Feb. 1) against Central Oklahoma in Edmond at the Hamilton Field House.
