TOPEKA -- Jacob Hanna scored a game high 20 points to lead Washburn University to an 89-71 win over the Pittsburg State University men's basketball team in a non-conference match-up Tuesday (Nov. 19) at Lee Arena.
The 10th ranked Ichabods (5-0) remained unbeaten as all five starters scored in double figures. Hanna made seven of 11 shots from the floor as WU shot 53.4 percent for the game (31-58).
Pitt State (2-3) got a team-leading 18 points from
R.J. Forney Jr. and 13 points apiece from
Tanner Mans and
Jordan Frison. Forney and Mans each dished out five assists in the contest. Forney made four of the Gorillas 10 3-pointers in the game.
Avery Taggart also finished in double figures with 11 points, while
Darrell Washington chipped in with seven points, four rebounds and two blocked shots.
Pitt State will return to action on Nov. 27 when the Gorillas make their home debut against Arkansas Tech University.
