PITTSBURG - The Pittsburg State University women's soccer team played valiantly in a 2-1 home defeat at the Gorilla Soccer Pitch Sunday (Nov. 3) to the University of Central Missouri.
In the 38th minute the Jennies (12-4-2, 9-2-1 MIAA) got on the board from an Andree Orcutt free kick right outside the 18-yard box. The second half would see the Gorillas (7-8-2, 3-6-2 MIAA) tie it up in the 52nd minute with redshirt sophomore midfielder
Avianna Gonzalez (Papillion, Neb.) claiming her first goal of her career from just outside the six-yard box. UCM was not done with the game winning goal being scored by Izzy Joyce in the 59th minute with Ashleigh Martin picking up the assist.

McKenna Robinson (Butler, Pa.) finished with a shot on goal as Robinson had a team-high four shots including one that hit the crossbar. Freshman goalkeepers
Jocelyn Kramar (Fort Collins, Colo.) in 30:15 of action claimed four saves and
Sabrina Schilt (Plano, Texas) in 59:45 of time saved two shots.
The Gorillas will host the Missouri Southern State University Lions to end the regular season Wednesday (Nov. 6) at 2:00 p.m. (CT) from the Gorilla Soccer Pitch.
