Macie Mays and
Karenna Gerber combined for 41 points to power the Pittsburg State University women's basketball team to an 85-55 victory over Northern State University Friday (Nov. 8).

Mays poured in a game-high 22 points for the No. 13 ranked Gorillas (2-1) on the strength of 9-13 shooting from the field. Gerber connected on seven of 11 shots and followed closed behind with 19 points.

Grace Pyle added 13 points and a team-leading seven rebounds for Pitt State, while
Maycee James also finished in double figures with 11 points.

The Gorillas converted 29 of 58 shots in the game; and Pitt State outscored the Wolves, 21-7, at the free throw line.

Alayna Benike paced NSU with 21 points.

The Gorillas will take on Minnesota State University Crookston in day two action of the NSIC/MIAA Challenge Saturday (Nov. 9) at 2 p.m.
