Gorillas Roll Past Drovers Before Packed House

PITTSBURG -- Grace Pyle scored a team-leading 23 points to help lead the Pittsburg State University women's basketball team to a 98-40 victory over the University of Science & Arts Tuesday (Dec. 10).

The Gorillas (9-1) logged their ninth consecutive victory before a packed house of 2,377 fans at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court in the program's annual Kid's Day contest. More than 1,900 area elementary and middle school children attended the matinee action.

Pyle connected of seven of 15 shots from the floor, including seven of 14 3-point field goal attempts. As a team, Pitt State knocked down 15 triples in the contest.

Karenna Gerber posted her 25th career double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. She climbed into second place all-time on the school's career rebounding list with 708 boards. Macie Mays added 12 poits, while Savannah Campbell and Clara Swearingen posted 11 points apiece. Maycee James dished out nine of the Gorillas' 24 assists in the contest.
