FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Pittsburg State University women's basketball team lost their opening game of the NSU Holiday Invitational to host Nova Southeastern University, 72-63 on Thursday (Dec.19) at Rick Case Arena.
Grace Pyle led all scorers with 21 points going 8-of-14 from the field with four made three-pointers,
Macie Mays finished with 13 points and a double-double for
Karenna Gerber of 12 points and 11 rebounds rounded out the leading scorers for the Gorillas (9-2).
Harper Schreiner dished out a game-high six assists as
Sydney Holmes finished with seven rebounds and five assists off the bench.
Nova Southeastern (8-2) was led in scoring by Corina Conley with 17, Aubrey Stupp with 15 and Jess Moors adding in 11 points.
Up next for the Gorillas will be Colorado Mesa tomorrow (Dec. 20) at 11:00 a.m. (CST) to conclude the NSU Holiday Invitational at Rick Case Arena. The Mavericks are 7-3 on the season after beating Northwest Missouri today, 64-45 in their opening game of the tournament.
