Gorillas Enjoy Final Tune-Up at Arkansas Qualifier Friday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Pittsburg State University men's and women's indoor track & field athletes enjoyed a final tune-up before the 2024 MIAA Indoor Championships Friday (Feb. 16) at the University of Arkansas Qualifier.

For the men, the trio of Mason Strader, Braden Zaner and Dylan Sprecker all logged season best performances in the mile run. Strader, who ran a sub-4 minute mile at Arkansas in 2022, was clocked in 4:01.35. Zaner (4:04.85) and Sprecker (4:06.51) also recorded personal best times in the race.

Dapriest Hogans posted a season best time of 21.09 in the 200 meters - the third-best time in school history. Woyn Chatman secured a PR in the 400 meters (47.92), while Bailey Stone logged a season-best time of 48.24. Daylin Williams also lowered his NCAA Division II leading time in the 60 meter hurdles with his clocking of 7.73 in the discipline. Cole Sample also recorded a PR in the weight throw with a new best mark of 61 feet, 6.75 inches. Greyson Smith added a second-place showing in the pole vault (16-10.75).

In the women's action, Diandrenique Gaines posted the second fastest time in school history in the 200m (22.04). Olivia Lowrey turned in a fast time of 55.44 in the 400 meters - the third fastest time in school history. Kinleigh Hall (55.69) also recorded a season best and Mikah Edwards (55.90) logged a PR in the 400m. Abby Lasiter registered a PR once again in the weight throw (57-10.25), while Kaci Singer posted a PR time in the 3,000 meters (10:19.18). Kyla Davis also placed second in the pole vault (13-10.5).
