PITTSBURG — Tanner Leslie tossed six solid innings and the Pittsburg State University baseball team pulled away for an 11-1 run-rule victory over Southwest Baptist in the opening game of a three-game series Saturday (Feb. 17).
Leslie limited the Bearcats (0-5) to one run and three hits in 6.0 innings of work to improve to 3-0 on the young season. He fanned four batters and did not issue any bases on balls.

Cade Clemons and Austin Warkins had three hits apiece to spark the Pitt State offense. Clemons doubled and drove in a pair of runs. Brevon Lee, Nixon Brannan and Karson Coffee also drove in two runs each. Coffee belted a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning.
The Gorillas and Bearcats will wrap up their series with a Noon (CST) doubleheader Sunday (Feb. 18) at Al Ortolani Field.
