Gorillas Score Late For 3-2 Win Over Hillcats

Pitt State Records Program's 950th All-Time Victory

CLAREMORE, Okla. — Daegan Brady scored the go-ahead run on a throwing error in the top of the ninth inning to lift Pittsburg State University to a 3-2 win over Rogers State University Sunday (Mar. 10).

The Gorillas improved to 15-5 overall (6-2 MIAA) with the win while the Hillcats slipped to 13-6 (5-3 MIAA). The two teams will wrap up their three-game series with a Noon game Monday.

Boston Dowd (3-0) limited RSU to one hit over 4.0 innings of relief to earn the victory on the mound. Starter Alex Kafka allowed two runs in four innings of work. Cole Askew pitched a clean ninth inning for his first save of the season.

Nixon Brannan and Karson Coffee each drove in a run. Dylan Kurahashi-Choy Foo had three hits in the game.

Pitt State posted its 950th all-time victory with the win against the Hillcats. The Gorillas have compiled a 950-876 all-time record in 45 seasons of intercollegiate play.
