PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University women's soccer team will begin the second weekend of MIAA play with home matches against Rogers State University and Northeastern State University.

Friday (Oct. 3), the Gorillas will host RSU at 2:00 p.m. (CT) and Sunday (Oct. 5), Pitt State will host NSU with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m. at the Gorilla Soccer Pitch. Following the match against Northeastern State, the Gorillas will autograph team posters for those in attendance.

Last season, Rogers State and the Gorillas ended in a 1-1 tie with both goals of the game scored in the first 11 minutes of the contest. Northeastern State came away with a 3-1 win last season against Pitt State in Tahlequah.

Pitt State is listed in the Top-10 of the USC (United Soccer Coaches) Division II Central Region Poll (Sept. 30) for the second week in a row. At No. 10, the Gorillas are joined by conference foes, Central Missouri (2
nd), Missouri Western (4
th), Northwest Missouri (6
th), Northeastern State (8
th) and Emporia State (9
th).

Picked to finish seventh in the MIAA Preseason Poll, the Gorillas are 6-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the MIAA. As a team Pitt State has scored 22 goals and allowed seven goals, leading the MIAA in goals scored and goals per game (2.75) while being sixth for opponent goals per game at 0.88.

Among Division II ranks as a team, the Gorillas are eighth in corner kicks per game (7.63) and assists provided (20), 12
th in assists per game (2.50), 13
th in goals scored (22), 16
th in shots per game (18.63), 17
th in scoring offense per game (2.75) and shots on goal per game (9.13).

Ella Cazzavillan is the team leader for points (8) while being tied for the team lead in goals scored (3) and assists (2).
Mia Hunt and
Sailor Jensen are the other Gorillas with three goals scored this season with the quartet of
Carrie Cunningham, Dane Hobson,
Shayla Hunt and
Annie Payne finding the back of the net twice this season so far. Cazzavillan and
Livi Jones has each provided two assists this season with 16 other Gorillas chipping in with one assist this season.
Jocelyn Kramar in goal has a 6-0-1 record with three shutouts in 644:25 minutes of action, saving 10 shots while holding a 0.56 GAA (Goals Against Average).

Rogers State enters the weekend with a 0-3-4 overall record, going 0-1-1 in the opening weekend of MIAA play. Last week the Hillcats tied Missouri Western 2-2 with both goals by the Griffons coming in the final minute and a 5-0 setback against No. 10 Central Missouri.

This season the Hillcats have scored eight (1.14) and allowed 16 goals to opponents (2.29), ranking 12
th in the MIAA for both categories.

Elle Beaulieu is the team leader with three goals from three shots on goal this season as a substitute. Delana King is the other member of the team with multiple goals so far this season. Six Hillcats have provided an assist with Kenzie Macklin the only member of the team to score a goal and provide an assist. Calais Butts has a 0-3-4 record in goal having played all 630 minutes so far, collecting 59 saves (8.4) with a 2.29 GAA.

Northeastern State will begin the weekend with a 5-2-1 overall record and went 0-1-1 in the first week of the conference slate. Tied No. 10 Central Missouri, 1-1 with a late equalizer before losing to Northwest Missouri 1-0 to end the weekend in Tahlequah.

NSU this season has scored 17 goals (2.13) while allowing opponents to score 7 (0.88) so far this season, ranking fifth in the MIAA for goals scored per game and sixth for opponents goals per game.

Sydney Taylor is the team leader with four goals and one assist, firing off a team-high 22 shots with nine being on target and is credited with three game winning goals. Brynn Baldon, Hannah Anderson and Olivia Burnes are the other members of the team to score multiple goals so far this season. Baldon is the top assister with three as Brooke Dodd is the other RiverHawk to provide more than one assist this season. In goal, Rebecca Partyka is 5-2-1 with a share of three shutouts, a 0.93 GAA and 28 saves in 679:57 minutes.
