KENOSHA, Wis. — The Pittsburg State University women's cross country team finished in 13
th place at the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships.
Junior
Paige Mullen and redshirt sophomore
Hannah Gibson each raced to NCAA All-America status by placing 10
th and 21
st, respectively, in the six-kilometer race at Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course. Mullen crossed the finish line in 20 minutes, 33.1 seconds, while Gibson finished in 20:52.1.
Sophomore
Lorna Rae Pierce placed 77
th overall in 21:45.0, while redshirt junior
Kaci Singer (136
th, 22:24.6) and redshirt sophomore Emily Vandeveer (172
nd, 22:49.5) rounded out Pitt State's scored positions.
Grand Valley State captured the national championship with a low score of 65 points. The Lakers edged second place Colorado Mines (69) by four points. The Gorillas posted a score of 416 points in the meet.
Pitt State posted its best Nationals finish since the 2018 squad also placed 13
th overall. The 1992 Gorillas posted a program best seventh place finish. Mullen and Gibson are the first Gorillas to earn All-America honors since Jessica Macy finished as the national runner-up in 2013.
