NEW ORLEANS — Ten members of the Pittsburg State University cross country program – six women and four women – received All-Academic honors for the 2025 season from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Gorillas women's honorees include: Phoebe Fletcher, Hannah Gibson, Paige Mullen, Lorna Rae Pierce, Kaci Singer and Emily Vandaveer. The Pitt State men's honorees are: Tyler Atkins, Nathan Hinrichs, Travis Sickles and Dylan Sprecker.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
Additionally, both the Pitt State women's and men's programs received All-Academic Team distinction. The Gorillas women carry a 3.75 team grade-point-average, while the Pitt State men currently sport a 3.60 team GPA.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period and compile a team score at their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
