KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nine members of the Pittsburg State University women's soccer team garnered All-MIAA honors as announced by the conference office Friday (Nov. 7).
Head Coach Wes Branstetter, who led the Gorillas to the 2025 MIAA regular season crown, was selected the MIAA Coach, while sophomore forward Carrie Cunningham was voted the MIAA Offensive Player of the Year.
All told, four Gorillas received first-team All-MIAA accolades: Cunningham, junior midfielder Abby Hoffman, senior defender Sailor Jensen and sophomore goalkeeper Jocelyn Kramar.
Additionally, freshman forward Ella Cazzavillan and freshman defender Livi Jones garnered second-team All-MIAA honors, while sophomore midfielder Mia Hunt claimed third-team All-MIAA honors. Redshirt junior midfielder Avianna Gonzalez and freshman defender Adelynn Phipps received honorable mention All-MIAA recognition.
Branstetter has amassed a 22-10-4 (.667) overall record in the Pitt State program's first two years of existence, fast tracking the Gorillas to an MIAA regular season crown in year two in 2025. Pitt State finished the regular season with a 14-2-2 overall record, including a league-best 9-1-2 mark in MIAA play.
Cunningham paced the Gorillas in goals (5), shots (47), shots on goal (22) and game-winning goals (3) this season. Her two assists also tied for third on the squad. She becomes the first sophomore to claim MIAA Offensive Player of the Year honors since the 2016 season.
Hoffman leads the team with five assists, which ranks second among MIAA players this season. She scored the game-winning goal against Fort Hays State on Sept. 28; and she's fired off 22 shots – 11 on goal – for a .500 SOG percentage.
Jensen becomes a two-time All-MIAA performer after earning third-team recognition during Pitt State's inaugural season in 2024. This year, she has scored four goals and racked up 1,496 minutes of playing time.
Kramar has posted a conference-leading 10 shutouts on the season as well as a league leading .466 goals against average (GAA). She ranks seventh in NCAA Division II in shutouts and 18th nationally in GAA.
Cazzavillan ranks second on the team with four goals, three assists, 35 shots, 15 shots on goal and two game-winning goals, while Jones finished the regular season with three goals and two assists.
Hunt, a two-year player for the Gorillas, posted four goals, two assists, 17 shots and 10 shots on goal during the regular season.
Gonzalez also becomes a two-time All-MIAA selection after receiving third-team accolades in 2024. One of three Gorillas to start all 18 matches this fall, Gonzalez provided one assist and attempted 13 shots.
Phipps also started all 18 matches during her rookie campaign, leads the squad with 1,547 minutes played.
