FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Pittsburg State University men's and women's outdoor track & field athletes posted big marks at the University of Arkansas Spring Invitational Saturday (Apr. 12).
A pair of Gorillas --
Kate Strader and
Rachel Wilson -- set all-time Pitt State records in their disciplines while 10 Pitt State athletes posted individual event victories Saturday.
Strader established a new school record with her time in the women's 1,500 meters. She was clocked in 4 minutes, 21.91 seconds. Wilson cleared 5 feet, 10.75 inches in the women's high jump to establish a new school record in the discipline.
Men's individual event titles were captured by:Â
Dapriest Hogans (100m, 10.23; 200m, 20.27);
Mason Strader (1500m, 3:43.95);
Brennan Boord (discus, 169-6);
Cole Sample (shot put, 57-0);
Caleb Calvin (javelin, 234-4); Treyvon Ferbuson (triple jump, 50-2.75).
Women's individual crowns:Â
Diandrenique Gaines (100m, 11.38);
Kyla Davis (pole vault, 13-6.25); Wilson (high jump, 5-10.75).
In other action,
Daylin Williams lowered his NCAA Division II leading time in the 110-meter hurdles (13.63), placing second to former Pitt State national champion Cordell Tinch (13.22).
Joel Nyatusah also posted a season-best time of 13.64 in the hurdles.
Gaines posted season bests in the 100m and the 200m (23.38), while Hadley posted a personal best clearance of 5-8.75 in the women's high jump.
Earlier this week, several multi event athletes competed at the Bryan Clay Multi's at Azusa, Calif.
Blakelee Winn posted a personal-best mark of 5,780 points in the women's heptathlon. Her mark is No. 2 all-time at Pitt State and No. 2 this season in Division II.
Hunter Jones also logged the No. 3 mark in D2 this season in the men's decathlon (7,527 points).
