EMPORIA, Kan. – Five Pittsburg State University track & field athletes earned All-America honors Thursday (May 21) to highlight day one action of the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships at Francis G. Welch Stadium on the campus of Emporia State University.
The Pitt State women garnered a pair of national championship performances from freshman Breanne Peter and redshirt senior
Blakelee Winn. Peters cleared 13 feet, 11.25 inches to claim the national title in the pole vault, while Winn popped a big mark of 20-9.25 to hit the top of the podium in the long jump.
Redshirt senior
Isabelle Peters (5
th, 13-7.25) and sophomore
Cannon Booker (6
th, 13-3.5) also garnered All-America accolades in the pole vault.
On the men's side, senior
Jack Haukap closed out his decorated Pitt State career with a fourth place All-America finish in the hammer throw (222-1).
The Pitt State women exited day one action in first place with 27 points. Hillsdale trails by 11.5 in second place with 15.5 points. The Pitt State men sit in a tie for eighth place with five points. Grand Valley State leads the way with 29 points.
On the track, several Pitt State athletes advanced to finals, including the women's 4x100m relay (45.33), the men's 4x100m relay (39.87), junior
Ilias Garcia in the men's 100m (10.58), junior
Caden Williams in the men's 400m (46.28) and redshirt junior
Dylan Sprecker in the men's 1,500m (3:49.00).
Additionally, senior
Leo Chauchard exited day one action of the men's decathlon in first place with 3,986 points, while Winn compiled 3,527 points to sit in second place after day one action in the women's heptathlon.
Chauchard placed second in the 100m (10.80) and long jump (23-4.75) and third in the shot put (47-2.25) Friday. Winn was tops in the shot put (44-9) and 200m (23.64) and second overall in the 100m hurdles (13.81).
Junior
Payton Phillips (3,178 pts) and sophomore
Lily Brown (3,020 pts) also exited day one action in the heptathlon in seventh and 12
th place. Freshman
Matthew Malmstrom is 10
th in the decathlon (3,671 pts), while junior
Drew Wilhite is 15
th (3,215 pts).

Abby Lasiter placed 10
th in the women's hammer throw (183-9); senior
Makayla Pavelka placed 10
th in the women's long jump (19-2.75); sophomore
Brooklyn Baker finished 11
th in the women's long jump (19-2); freshman Evan Williams finished 15
th in the women's pole vault (12-5.5); and sophomore
Quincey Turner placed 19
th in the women's pole vault (11-11.75). On the men's side, junior
Brennan Boord finished 16
th in the hammer throw (196-6) and sophomore
Isaiah Webster placed 21
st in the long jump (22-6.25).
On the track, sophomore
Mikah Edwards raced in the women's 400m (55.36), but did not advance to Saturday's finals. Junior
Logan Davis (46.69), junior
Nate Watson (46.99) and graduate
Woyn Chatman (47.00) all raced in the men's 400m, but did not qualify to finals. Junior
Braylon Thompson was clocked in 10.71 in the men's 100m.
Day two action gets under way at 9:30 a.m. (CDT) Friday with the conclusion of the multi event competitions.
