KERRVILLE, Texas - The Pittsburg State University men's golf team completed the final tournament before the MIAA Championships on Tuesday (Apr. 8), finishing ninth as a team in the Battle at Riverhill at the Riverhill Country Club.
The Gorillas finished +32 as a team after posting round scores of 299-301-296.
Tyler Hardtarfer led the team at +2 to finish tied for 15th after a two-day showing of 74-73-71.
Carson Towey and
Mason White tied for 36th with a duplicate +9 score,
Keaton Thissen at +14 finished tied for 48th and
Tanner John finished tied for 66th with a +23 two-day score.
St. Mary's (Texas) claimed the team win with a -27 showing over two days, going 283-277-277. Guillaume Paquette from STMU claimed the individual title at -11 with round scores of 71-66-68.
Pittsburg State will be idle until the MIAA Championship beginning on Apr. 21st in Jefferson City, Mo., the Gorillas sit in ninth as a team with Towey tied for 19th among individuals.
