PITTSBURG -- The Pittsburg State University baseball team tied a program single season record for victories with the Gorillas 6-2 win over the University of Arkansas Fort Smith Saturday (May 3).
Pitt State wrapped up its regular season slate with a 39-9 overall record and a 27-9 mark in MIAA play. The No. 15 ranked Gorillas sit alone in second place in the MIAA standings and await the release of the 2025 MIAA Postseason Tournament bracket later Saturday evening. Pitt State matched its 1997 and 2002 squads by reaching its 39th victory. The Gorillas will have an opportunity to be the first Pitt State squad to reach 40 wins in postseason play.
Kadyn Williams doubled twice, scored three runs and drove in three more runs to spark the Gorillas offense Saturday.

Braxton Haywood (3-0) earned the win in relief of starter
Cadyn Castellanos, who exited the game in a 2-2 tie after five innings of work. Castellanos allowed five hits and one walk and he registered two strikeouts.

Cooper Crouch all tossed scoreless innings of relief in the game.
