EMPORIA, Kan. — The Pittsburg State University men's outdoor track & field team continued its dominance over its MIAA competition at the 2025 MIAA Outdoor Championships Sunday (May 4) at Witten Track/Welch Stadium on the Emporia State University campus.
The Gorillas claimed their fifth straight MIAA Outdoor Championship and the program's 10th MIAA outdoor title in the last 14 seasons by compiling 252.5 points in the three-day meet. Missouri Southern finished as a distant MIAA runner-up with 135 points.
The Gorillas claimed nine MIAA titles on Sunday, including MIAA meet record performances by the 4x100m and 4x400m relays,
Dapriest Hogans in the 200 meters (20.42) and
Dylan Sprecker in the 1,500 meters (3:42.51). Hogans also won the 100 meters in 10.13 seconds.

Caleb Calvin also claimed his second straight MIAA title in the javelin throw (250-11), while
Joel Nyatusah won the 110-meter hurdles (13.54).
Nate Watson claimed the MIAA crown in the 400 meters (46.16) and
Jordan Kilonzo won the 800 meters (1:51.78).
The Gorillas added 10 more All-MIAA performances on Sunday:Â
Britton Gage in the pole vault (2nd, 16-3.5);
Treyvon Ferguson in the triple jump (2nd, 51-9.75);
Cole Sample in the shot put (58-10.75);
Mason Strader in the 800m (3rd, 1:52.35) and the 1,500m (3rd, 3:42.77); Tyron Jackson (2nd, 13.75) and
Daylin Williams (3rd, 13.88) in the 110m hurdles;
Dakari Charlton in the 100m (3rd, 10.28) and 200m (2nd, 20.90); and
Victor Smith in the 100m (3rd, 10.34).
Hogans claimed the MIAA High Point Scorer Award for his individual titles in the 100m and the 200m and for helping the 4x100m to victory. He compiled 22.5 points in the meet.
Pitt State posted the second-highest team point total in league history with the 254.5 point outburst. Southeast Missouri State University holds the all-time points record with 271 in 1986.
