NEW ORLEANS -- Pittsburg State University's
Caden Williams was selected as the NCAA Division II National Athlete of the Week for men's outdoor track & field Monday (May 4) by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Pittsburg State standout completed a season sweep of 400-meter conference titles this past weekend on his home track, winning the event at the MIAA Outdoor Championships in a division-leading PR of 45.61 to beat teammate Logan Davis by 0.24 seconds.
Just as he did indoors, Williams later returned to anchor the Gorillas' division-leading 4×400 relay, which finished in 3:04.56.
This is the 15th time in program history that a male athlete from Pittsburg State has been named M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season. Williams joins fellow 2026 honoree Jack Haukap, 2025 honoree Caleb Calvin, 2025 honoree Dapriest Hogans, two-time 2023 honoree Cordell Tinch, 2022 honoree Louis Rollins, two-time 2021 honoree Brett Thompson, 2017 honoree Kai Miller, four-time 2016 honoree Garrett Appier and 2016 honoree Tanner McNutt.
