PITTSBURG -- Former Pittsburg State University assistant football coach Carl Roth died unexpectedly earlier this week at his home in Pittsburg. Roth, 58, served as an assistant for 28 years under head coaches Chuck Broyles (1992-2009) and Tim Beck (2010-19).
 
Roth's funeral service will be held at the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts (1711 S. Homer St.) on the Pittsburg State University campus Monday, September 29, 2025, at 10 a.m. The rosary will be recited prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. at the Bicknell Center.
 
His funeral service will be live streamed on pittstate.tv for friends, family and members of Gorilla Nation unable to attend in person.
