KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Senior catcher Lexi Davis was announced as the MIAA Hitter of the Week after her performances this weekend in the MIAA/GLVC Crossover in Pittsburg.

The Harrisburg, Ark., native helped the Gorillas stay unbeaten (17-0) with doubleheader sweeps over the University of Missouri - St. Louis (Feb. 21) and No. 24 McKendree Unviersity (Feb. 22). For the week, Davis slashed .500/.615/1.200 with 10 RBI from five hits and scored five times herself. Behind the plate she recorded 21 putouts and accumulated two assists.

Against UMSL, she finished with eight runs batted in while going 3-for-5 in the DH with a double and home run. Ended the weekend with a 2-for-2 performance in the first game againt McK where she scored twice and drove in two runs while coming away with a double and triple. 

Up next for Davis and the Gorillas will be the Top Gun Invite (Feb. 27-28) in Shawnee, Kan., at the Mid American Sports Complex.
