EDMOND, Okla. - The Pittsburg State University baseball team began the Edmond First Pitch Classic with a dominant 25-1 win over the University of Missouri - St. Louis on Thursday (Feb. 5), at Wendell Simmons Field on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma.
Pittsbug State (4-0) collected 20 hits, drew 11 walks and were the victims of four hit-by-pitches. The 25 runs scored is tied for the sixth-most in a single-game in program history.
Landin Midgett finished a triple shy of the cycle, going 4-of-4 with a game-high seven RBI.

Jumping out to an early 8-1 lead, Pittsburg State batted around the order twice in the third inning and put up 14 runs to extend the lead up to 22-1.
James Dagenhart with his first collegiate hit, an RBI single up the middle started a three-run fifth inning to provide the final scoreline of 25-1.
Up next for the Gorillas will be the second day of the Edmond First Pitch Classic at Wendell Simmons Field on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma, first pitch against the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Savage Storm is set for 10:00 a.m. (CST) on Friday (Feb. 6).
