CLEVELAND — Pittsburg State University Athletics leads the MIAA and ranks eighth nationally in the 2025-26 NCAA Division II Learfield Directors' Cup winter standings released today (Apr. 1).

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports - seven women's and seven men's.

The Gorillas, who field 15 intercollegiate sports, compiled 388.0 points to date thanks to the Pitt State's men's and women's indoor track & field teams capturing NCAA-II National Championships last month.

Grand Valley State University leads the Division II winter standings with 790.5 points.

Five MIAA institutions, including Pitt State, rank in the top 50 in the directors' cup fall standings:  Pitt State (8th), Washburn (15th), Nebraska-Kearney (19th), Central Missouri (20th) and Northwest Missouri (36th).
