FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. --
Breanne Peters posted the top mark in NCAA Division II this season in the women's pole vault to highlight the Pittsburg State University men's and women's outdoor track & field teams efforts at the University of Arkansas Spring Invitational Saturday (Apr. 11).
Peters posted a personal-best mark of 13 feet, 10 inches in the pole vault to shoot to the top of the D2 national list. Teammates
Eva Williams and
Cannon Booker also cleared 13-0.25 in the discipline Saturday.
Bethany Umbarger also climbed into a tie for first place in Division II in the high jump after clearing 5-10.75 in the women's high jump. Freshmen
Alycia Cosens (158-0) and
Madi Olds (154-7) added big marks in the women's javelin.
On the track,
Zyra Shivers was clocked in the fourth fastest time in school history, and the No. 4 time in D2 this season, in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 13.49.
McKinlee Walker also was clocked in a personal best time of 13.71.
In the men's action,
Drake Stapleton claimed victory in the shot put (58-8) and
Trace Hanchett scored the individual win in the javelin (217-0).
Xavier Byers also cleared 6-9 in the high jump and
Brennan Boord posted a mark of 170-8 in the discus.
On the track, Kemmari Stewart was clocked in 10.40 in the 100 meters and 21.04 in the 200 meters, while
Woyn Chatman posted a season-best time of 46.94 in the 400 meters.
