Gorillas Set For Midwest/Central Regional Action

PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University men's golf team is set to play at the Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich., in the NCAA Division II Midwest/Central Regional.

Teams and individuals will start play on Thursday (May 7) morning and end on Saturday (May 9). The 54-hole tournament will decide the top three teams and top two student-athletes not attached to an advancing team to advance to the NCAA Division II Championship (May 18-22) at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.
 
In the second season as a team after restarting the program in 2025, Pittsburg State qualified for the regional by virtue of being the No. 6 team in the Central Region. The Midwest/Central Regional is comprised of 10 teams from each of the two regions and four individuals to comprise the field.
 
Competing for the Gorillas will be Mason White, Jack Randall, Tyler Hardtarfer, Bradin Stahl, David Hobart and Cooper Forth.
 
White in 11 tournaments this season has competed in 32 rounds, averaging a 74.5 round score on his way to All-MIAA honors. The Rowlett, Texas native, claimed the individual title at the Maverick Desert Classic (Mar. 9-10), while claiming three top 10 finishes, six top 20 placements and been within the top 30 in eight tournaments this season. White this season has record 12 rounds of play at either under or on par with a -6 (66) showing at the MSSU Invite (Oct. 21).
 
Randall has competed in six tournaments this season for 17 rounds of action to finish with a 76.5 average round score. The Lawrence, Kan., native has finished in the top 20 twice and been in the top 30 at three tournaments. Finished 15th at the Maverick Desert Classic (Mar. 9-10) and at the Arkansas Collegiate (Mar. 23-24). Has posted two -1 rounds (71) this season at the Rattler Invite (Feb. 16) and Maverick Desert Classic (Mar. 9).
 
Hardtarfer in 11 tournaments this season has played in 32 rounds, to finish with a 74.6 average round score. The Goddard, Kan., native this season has finished in the top 10 three times and been in the top 20 at five tournaments. This season, Hardtarfer has hit a hole in one and collected an albatross. This season has recorded 11 rounds at either under or on par with a -3 showing at the NSU Classic (Sept. 15) and at the Maverick Desert Classic (Mar. 9).
 
Stahl has competed in four tournaments this season for 12 rounds, finishing with an average round score of 79.7. At the Tommy Riggs Collegiate Invitational (Mar. 30-31) that was hosted by Pitt State at Crestwood Country Club, finished in a season-high 22nd. Completed the Tulsa Cup (Oct. 27-28) with a season-best +9 (225) performance at the Indian Springs Golf Course.
 
Hobart this season has competed in seven tournaments for 21 rounds, while possessing a 77.9 average round score. The Dallas, Texas native has one top 30 finish this season, coming at The Hrnciar Invite (Oct. 6-7). Has recorded three rounds this season below par, with a -4 (68) showing at The Hrnciar Incite (Oct. 6).
 
Forth in seven tournaments this season has competed in 18 rounds for a 77.7 average round score. The Webb City, Mo., native at the Tulsa Cup (Oct. 27-28) finished with a season-best +7 (223), at Pilgrim's Run Invite (Sept. 8-9) recorded a 48th place finish. Recorded two rounds this season where he finished at even, MSSU Invite (Oct. 21) and Tulsa Cup (Oct. 27).
