Gorillas Qualify For Regional

PITTSBURG - The Pittsburg State University men's golf team was announced on Sunday (Apr. 26) as one of the 80 teams competing at four regional sites across the nation at the Division II level.

The 54-hole tournament at the Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich., for the Midwest/Central regional is set to begin on Thursday (May 7) and end on Saturday (May 9).

Pittsburg State will be joined by Central Oklahoma, Central Missouri, Washburn, Missouri Western and Arkansas - Fort Smith from the MIAA; Harding, Arkansas Tech and Southern Arkansas from the Great American Conference and Winona State from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Joining the Central Region teams and representing the Midwest Region will be Grand Valley State, Ferris State, Davenport and Wayne State (Mich.) from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference; Findlay, Tiffin and Hillsdale from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference; and from the Great Lakes Valley Conference, Missouri S&T, Missouri - St. Louis and Rockhurst.

Looking to complete a three-peat, UCO claimed the 2024 and 2025 Midwest/Central Regional and is the top seed in the Central region. Grand Valley State was ranked as the No. 1 team in the Midwest region

Pittsburg State is in its second year after restarting the program and finished the regular season as the sixth seed in the Central. Senior, Mason White was an All-MIAA performer this season after finishing as a top 12 individual in the MIAA. White heading into the regional has a 74.5 average round score to go with three top 10 finishes and 12 rounds where he finished at either even or under par.
