PITTSBURG - The Pittsburg State Unviersity men's golf team is set to begin the fall semester of the 2026-27 season on Tuesday (Sept. 8) in Warrensburg, Mo., at Mules National Golf Club.
Picked to finish sixth in the MIAA Preseason Poll (Sept. 3), the Gorillas have eight returners from last school year and six newcomers to round of the squad for 2026-27. Pitt State qualified for the NCAA Division II Midwest/Central Regional last school year and had
Mason White named All-MIAA.
Participants for the Gorillas in The Mule will be
Jack Randall,
Cooper Forth,
Tyler Hardtarfer,
Seth Benjamin and
Dylan Wisener.
Randall played in seven tournaments for the Gorillas in the fall last season, finishing with a 76.6 average round score in 20 rounds of action. The Lawrence, Kan., native recoded a pair of 15th place finishes and had a low round of -1 (71) at the Rattler Invite (Feb. 16) and Maverick Desert Classic (Mar. 9).
Forth competed in eight tournaments last school year, finishing with an average round of 77.9 in 21 rounds of play. The Webb City, Mo., native recorded a 48th place finish at the Pilgrim's Run Invite (Sept. 8-9) and finished rounds on par at the MSSU Invite (Oct. 21) and Tulsa Cup (Oct. 27).
Hardtarfer played in all 12 tournaments in 2025-26 for the Gorillas, finishing with a 74.8 average round score. The Goddard, Kan., native had a trio of top 10 finishes with a third place showing at the MSSU Invite (Oct. 20-21) where he finished -1 (215). Ended the school year with 12 rounds at or below par, highlighted by -3 (69) displays at the NSU Classic (Sept. 15) and Maverick Desert Classic (Mar. 9).
Benjamin is a freshman from Wichita, Kan., who prepped at Andover High School. A two-time All-State and All-League performer at AHS, for his career averaged a 74.3 per round with a low round of 66.
Wisener is a freshman from Dallas, Texas where he prepped at Sachse High School. An All-Region performer at SHS, claimed the district title twice during his prep career and recorded a low round of 65.
Individuals will begin the first round of action at 8:30 a.m. (CT), with the Gorillas starting on holes 14-17.
