KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Pittsburg State University men's golf team was picked sixth and the women 10^th in the 2026-27 MIAA Preseason Coaches Polls released Thursday (Sept. 3).

The Pitt State men received 40 points to land at No. 6 in the poll. Central Oklahoma received five first-place votes and 77 points to edge Washburn (three first-place votes, 71 points) and Central Missouri (two first-place votes, 69 points) for the top spot. Missouri Western (51 pts) and Arkansas Fort Smith (44 pts) rounded out the top fiv

The Pitt State women garnered 30 points in their poll. Rogers State (3 votes, 110 pts), Washburn (4 votes, 106 pts), Nebraska Kearney (3 votes, 101 pts), UCM (2 votes, 98 pts) filled out the top four slots on the 12-team list.

The Pitt State men, who qualified for the NCAA Division II Midwest/Central Regional last spring, will make their season debut Sept. 8-9 at Warrensburg, Mo., in The Mule, while the Pitt State women will head to Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Mo., next week for a Regional Preview meet hosted by Missouri Western.
