Biography


General: Second-year player… a talented wide receiver who is primed for a big senior season… a versatile athlete who is expected to be a key component in the Pitt State offensive attack again this fall.

In 2011: Started 11 of 14 games… caught 26 passes for 441 yards (17.0 ypc) and two touchdowns… also carried the ball four times for 64 yards (16.0 ypc) and completed two of three passes (.667) for 92 yards and two TDs… caught three passes for a season-high 76 yards vs. Fort Hays State (Oct. 8)… caught a game-clinching 53-yard reception in the NCAA-II National Championship Game to set up PSU’s final score vs. Wayne State (Dec. 17)… tossed a 56-yard TD pass to John Brown in The Fall Classic at Arrowhead X (Oct. 1) and added a 36-yard TD pass to Levi Kuntzsch in the NCAA-II semifinals vs. Delta State (Dec. 10).

In Junior College:  Earned Most Valuable Player honors in the 2010 Valley of the Sun Bowl for Glendale (Ariz.) Community College… caught a pair of touchdowns in the 23-13 bowl victory… played his freshman season at Snow (Utah) Junior College.

In High School: A first-team Idaho Class 5A All-State performer as a senior at Caldwell High in 2007… caught 58 passes for 900+ yards and 12 touchdowns that year, helping the Falcons to an 8-1 record… also logged 89 tackles with seven interceptions as a free safety on defense.

Personal: Born February 27, 1988… son of Sophia Mereness… a management major.
