Pittsburg State Gorillas

General: Third-year player… a talented athlete who is primed for a big senior season… exited spring drills No. 1 on the depth chart at the “bandit” safety position.

In 2011: Saw action in all 14 games, including four starts… made 39 tackles (26 solo) with 4.5 tackles-for-loss and 3.0 quarterback sacks… also recorded an interception and two pass breakups… made a career-high seven tackles in the NCAA-II National Championship Game vs. Wayne State (Dec. 17).

In 2010: Saw action in all 12 games in a reserve role for Pitt State… recorded 11 tackles (3 solo) with 1.0 TFL, two interceptions, and one PBU… logged his two interceptions in the season opener vs. Central Oklahoma (Aug. 28).

In Junior College: Spent two seasons at Fort Scott CC… recorded 36 tackles with three PBUs and one forced fumble as a redshirt freshman for the Greyhounds in 2009… a member of FSCC’s 11-1 National Runner-up team in 2009… redshirted his first year with the Greyhounds.

In High School: A stand-out performer at Olathe Northwest High School… recorded 102 tackles as a senior in 2008… also played baseball for the Ravens.

Personal: Born February 12, 1990… son of Larry, Jr., and Melanie Sanchez… a mathematics major.
