ANAHEIM, Calif. -- In a game that saw both teams with a 14-point lead, even with only three minutes left, the end could not have been predicted. This time, the Pitt State Women's Basketball team (1-2) ended on the losing end, falling 73-82 to Indianapolis (1-2) in the final game of the CCA Tipoff Classic at the Anaheim Convention Center.

The Gorillas were hot in the first half, shooting 44 percent (12-27) overall and 39 percent from three-point range. In the second half, the shooting slowed a little, with only .355 shooting overall and .250 from long range. The Greyhounds shot .583 in the second half and 49 percent for the game to help them to the win. 

Morgan Westhoff led the Gorillas with 23 points off the bench as she hit a career-high seven threes in the game. Lizzy Jeronimus added 20 points with 14 coming from the charity stripe. Jeronimus was the team's leading rebounder as she was just short of a double-double with nine rebounds. Alex Muff added eight rebounds. Jeronimus and Antqunita Reed each dished out four assists.

UIndy's Katy McIntosh led all scorers with 16 points.

The Greyhounds took and early 6-2 lead, but Pitt State went on a 14-0 run that include three straight threes by Westhoff to go up 16-6. Though Indianapolis was able to cut Pitt State's lead to seven a couple times, the Gorillas never let it get closer than that before the team built to their largest lead of the game at 14, 26-12 with 7:01 to go in the first half. 

Pitt State was able to maintain a double-digit lead until a Kirsten Gliesmann layup for UIndy cut Pitt State's lead to nine with 3:38 to go. Back-to-back three pointers by the Greyhounds cut PItt State's lead down to five points, 36-31, with just over a minute left in the first half. A free throw by UIndy's Katy McIntosh with time expired gave the Gorillas only a four-point cushion at the half. 

Though Pitt State scored the first points of the second half, the Greyhounds momentum took them on a 7-0 run to regain the lead they held early in the game. There were three more ties before UIndy took over the lead for good at 14:49 and used that to start and 8-0 lead. 

The Greyhounds did not get their first double digit lead of the game until free throw shots by Kylie Ballard with 6:02 left. The team got its largest lead of the game, matching Pitt State's previous lead, with 1:43 remaining in the game, 79-65.

Pitt State will play its home opener on Thursday, November 14 at 6 p.m. against Henderson State.
