PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State softball team will travel to Wichita Wednesday (Mar. 6) to face Newman in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. (CST).

The Gorillas are 4-4 on the season, while the Jets enter Wednesday's action with a 2-12 record. Pitt State split a four-game series with Arkansas-Monticello last weekend at Magnolia, Ark. Newman has dropped 12 straight games after starting the season 2-0.

Tiffany Brown leads the Gorillas with a .429 batting average. Brown has a team-best three home runs and shares the squad lead with six RBIs. Katelyn Birchfield also is batting .429 on the year with a team-leading eight runs scored.

On the mound, Haleigh Sills is 2-1 with a 1.66 ERA in three starts, while Kylie Harpst is 1-1 with a 2.10 ERA.
