PITTSBURG, Kan. -- Due to poor field conditions in Joplin, the Gorillas' doubleheader against the Lions has been postponed until April 6. The home doubleheader on Saturday (March 7) against the Lions will continue as scheduled.
The Gorillas are 5-3 on the season and 2-0 in MIAA play. They hit .358 as a team and have a 3.55 team ERA. The team has not played since Feb. 25 against Southwest Baptist.
McKenzie Rynard leads the team with a .520 batting average. McKenzie Rynard also hits over .400 with a .438 average. Rynard leads the team in home runs and doubles with four of each. Rynard, Nicole Nease and Kylie Guthier each have eight RBI on the season to lead the team.
Emmie Robertson leads the Gorillas in the circle with a 2.28 ERA and holds opponents to a .186 batting average. She has struck out 30 batters in 27.2 innings, while walking 10. Zoe Price has the best record of the Pitt State pitchers with a 2-0 record. She has thrown 17.2 innings and struck out 17 batters, while walking only four.
