PITTSBURG – The Pitt State Softball team will close out the regular season on Friday and Saturday (April 22 and 23) in Oklahoma at Northeastern State and Central Oklahoma. The doubleheaders each day will beging at 1 p.m.
Pitt State is currently third in the MIAA standings with a 17-5 record in MIAA play and a 34-15 overall record. Northeastern State is fifth in the league standings at 30-19 and 13-9 in league play. Central Oklahoma is just behind the Gorillas in fourth with a 33-15 overall record and 16-6 in the MIAA.
Northeastern State hits .276 as a team with three players hitting over .300 on the season. Kelsey Harmon leads the team with a .316 average. Paige Gann hits .257 and leads the team in runs with 28 and home runs with 10. Ryan Martin has the RBI lead with 34. The RiverHawk pitching staff has a 3.01 ERA. Kayce Wooldridge leads the team with a 1.42 ERA, the leading ERA in the MIAA. She is 21-7 on the season. Taryn Gray adds a 4.27 ERA and a 7-7 record.Â
Central Oklahoma . 362 as a team, the top batting average in the MIAA. The Bronchos also lead the league in runs, hits, doubles, triples, home runs and RBI. Three players hits over .400 on the season, with seven more hitting .300 or better. Morgan heard leads the team with a .482 average. 21 doubles and 60 runs scored. Lexi Watson hits .351 with 13 home runs and 57 RBI. The Bronchos pitching staff has a 3.91 ERA. Nicole Brady and Jessi Walker have pitched the majority of innings. Brady has a 13-4 record and a 3.96 ERA, while Walker has a 13-7 record and a 4.02 ERA.
Pitt State hits .282 as a team. Three players, Katy Remy, Myka Howard and Jenna Bolton each hit over .300. Remy leads the team with a .354 average, 38 runs, 57 hits and two triples. Nicole Nease is the team's home run and RBI leader with 13 home runs and 41 RBI. Catie Cummins leads the team in doubles with 16.Â
The Pitt State pitching staff has a 1.97 ERA, the best team ERA in the MIAA. They hold opponents to a .219 average and have given up the fewest extra base hits of anyone in the MIAA. Emmie Robertson leads the team with a 1.44 ERA and an 18-8 record. She has thrown 175.0 innings and struck out 238 batters while walking only 52. She has already set the PSU career and single game strikeouts records this season and with one more strikeout she will also break her own single season record set last season. Morgan Myers has a 2.32 ERA and a 13-5 record. She has thrown 111.2 innings and struck out 64 batters. Zoe Price has also shared some of the pitching duties lately and has thrown 32.0 innings and earned a 3-2 record since March 20.
