PITTSBURG -- The Pittsburg State University softball team will travel to St. Joseph, Mo., Friday (Mar. 7) to open the three-day Hyvee Classic hosted by Missouri Western State University.

The Gorillas will face six NCAA Division II Central Region foes in the tournament.

Pitt State will take on Winona State at 10 a.m. and St. Cloud State at 2 p.m. Friday. The Gorillas then will face Mary (N.D.) at 10 a.m. and Upper Iowa at 2 p.m. Saturday, before wrapping up the tournament action by facing Minnesota State-Mankato at 9 a.m. and Augustana (S.D.) at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The Gorillas enter the tournament action with a 17-7 overall record.
