Softball Travels East

PITTSBURG -- The Pitt State softball team will travel to the eastern-most part of the conference for a doubleheader against Lindenwood on Friday (April 14) at 2 p.m. and Lincoln on Saturday (April 15) at 1 p.m.

Lindenwood is 18-19 overall and 6-10 in MIAA play. They are 11th in the conference standings. The Lions hit .305 as a team and have a 4.46 ERA. 

Lincoln is last in the league standings with a 5-35 overall record and a 2-14 MIAA mark. The Blue Tigers are hitting .228 with a 7.77 ERA.

The Gorillas are second in the MIAA standings behind only Central Oklahoma. Pitt State is 34-12 and 13-5 in MIAA play.

PSU hits .294 as a team with three players hitting over .300. Kala Holder leads the team with a .348 average. Kaity Kukowski hits just under .300 at .298 and leads the team with 35 runs scored. She also has a .480 on base percentage as she has walked 21 times and been hit by 26 pitches. Nicole Nease leads the team in RBI with 34 and home runs with seven. 

The Pitt State pitching staff has a 1.92 ERA. Emmie Robertson leads with a 0.74 ERA and a 24-5 record with three saves in 41 appearances. She has struck out 227 batters in 189.2 innings while walking only 46. Bree Cornett is second with a 2.63 ERA and a 7-4 record with one save.
