Gorillas Wrap Up Regular Season Action Against NSU, UCO

PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University softball team will wrap up regular season action with a pair of MIAA doubleheaders Sunday (Apr. 23) and Monday (Apr. 24). The Gorillas will face Northeastern State University in a twinbill beginning at 4 p.m. (CDT) Sunday and Pitt State will play host to the University of Central Oklahoma in a twinbill at 2 p.m. Monday at the PSU Softball Complex.

The NSU games originally were scheduled for Friday while the UCO games were tabbed for Saturday, but local rain showers prompted the two-day delay.

Pitt State enters Sunday's action 39-13 overall and 16-6 in MIAA play. The Gorillas currently sit in second place in the MIAA standings. Pitt State has won four straight games including a non-conference doubleheader sweep of Missouri S&T University on Apr. 18.

NSU is 23-24 overall and 11-11 in MIAA play. The RiverHawks are currently ninth in the MIAA standings. UCO is 39-9 overall, 18-4 in the MIAA and alone atop the MIAA standings heading into a Sunday doubleheader against Missouri Southern.

Sunday's action will include Senior Day ceremonies as Pitt State will honor outgoing seniors Tiara Ewy and Nicole Nease prior to game one against the RiverHawks.
