Box Score JOPLIN, Mo. — The Pittsburg State University volleyball team snapped its six game losing streak with a straight set win over Missouri Southern State University Friday (Oct. 19). The Gorillas defeated the Lions 25-20, 25-23, 25-18.

PSU (16-10, 5-8 MIAA) hit .250  as a team. The Gorillas had two players record double digit kills, Lauren Regier (13) and Meg Auten (12) to pace the Gorillas offense. Brianna Richard added 33 assists for the Gorillas, with Lauren Dunn recording 10 digs.

MSSU (3-20, 3-10 MIAA) hit only .134 as a team. Janelle Brehm led the Lions with fifteen kills followed by CC Pollard with five kills. Kylee Kaaihue contributed 23 assists for the Lions offense and Morgan Nash recorded 20 digs on the match.

Pitt State will return to action Saturday (Oct. 20) when the Gorillas travel to Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
