Box Score EMPORIA, Kan. — The Pittsburg State University softball team finished up the weekend games at the ESU St. Patrick's Day Classic on Sunday (Mar. 18). The Gorillas dropped a 9-3 decision against University of Minnesota Duluth, to finish 2-3 on the weekend.
Pitt State dropped to 11-20 on the season, while Minnesota Duluth improves to 18-5 on the season.
The Bulldogs recorded four home runs on eleven hits, compared to just four hits by the Gorillas.
Kala Holder and Alicia Lowrey each collected a home run in the contest.
Brooklynne Simbeck (6-12) was charged with six earned runs in 2 innings of work. Bree Cornett limited the Bulldogs to three runs over the final 4 innings of relief work.
The Gorillas will return to action Friday (Mar. 23) when they host Missouri Southern in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. (CST) at PSU Softball Complex.
